Melvin and Ima Fae Nix were married May 28, 1955, in San Antonio.  They moved to Lewiston Idaho, where he was youth pastor at Clarkston First Assembly and also worked at Potlatch Forests Inc. (now Potlatch Corp.) in Lewiston.

Mel & Ima were pastors at Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle from 1955 to 1964, then taught at International Bible College. They later graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa in 1967.

They were teachers and consultants in the Corpus Christi, Texas, schools for 13 years. In 1979 they became administrators of Maranatha Christian School in Boise, and he was on the pastoral staff.  After 11 years in Boise, they retired to Grangeville in 1990, where he is an associate pastor at Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Ima has supervised student teachers for Boise State University, Lewis-Clark State College, and the University of Idaho since 1987. She continues to work part-time in that position for the UI.  For several years they had a regular television program, the Encouragers, which aired three times weekly in the Lewiston-Clarkston Idaho area .In 1991, she co-founded of the Encouragers in Grangeville. She has also been active in Aglow International. He likes gardening, fishing and camping while she likes reading and music. Both enjoy mission traveling.
